Below are a selection of genuine headlines, taken from articles highlighting the gender gap in science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) subjects. There is no argument that there is a disparity between the genders when we look at the numbers. As a ‘woman-in-STEM’, I live it every day.
I just wonder why the flip side of that coin is not seen as a headline grabbing issue. Surely if we are truly striving for gender ‘equality’ should it not be in all directions? I have re-written these headlines, to get you thinking, talking, discussing…..
Equality is equality. May be we should consider both sides of the issue instead of just one?
